Our Poster Ananlysis
This was the original photo we took for the poster, taken on set.
We knew we wanted him to have a rather sinister smile on him to make it look like a thriller poster more than anything but I had to make it look more professional than this.
I cut the sides off, then carefully cut his face exactly in half to make it look professional, then i darkened the image then making this...
After this i needed to make it look more eery, so i darkened the picture and added a gradient to the image to follow the light pattern coming from his left side, image right side, so it looked realistic but still 'thriller-esk', i then added the text and changed any minor tweaks we had and that gave me the finished poster product

Teaser Poster
Above- Poster with added layer (note we have chosen to discontinue using this one as we believe the plain black one is more effective)
Above- Final poster without title.
Below- Initial Idea for poster.
We got the idea for this when we we're brainstorming, we thought that as the film is based on schizophrenia we thought we could have his shadow as his alter-ego holding a knife. it shows that in the real world, the black makes him feel on edge and very vulnerable, but as his 'shadow' he feels clear headed and feels more peaceful and safe.

Shooting Schedule at Mary Green Manor- 14th March
For good organisation and a clear focus on what we needed to do for the day of filming at Mary Green Manor, we created a table allocating props we need to bring for the filming so we were responsible for our own things. Also by taking two cameras and chargers this meant that we had a backup option for filming our piece in case anything went wrong with the main camera.

Marketing Idea
This was the original shot of Marygreen Manor that I used for our marketing poster, using our social networking sties.
I wanted it to fit within the conventions of a thriller, so I decided to take a copyright free image of a stormy sky and stamp tooled it into this image, and then darkened the original photo layer to correspond with the sky giving me this...
I then had to find a perfect place to put all of the website links without ruining the bulk of the photo. I decided that the top right hand corner would be the most suited place for this, as there is a lot of clear space and can be easily seen in the chaos of the background. After doing that it gave me the finished product...
We created a Twitter and Facebook page for our film as a method to market the product. Both are social networking sites that allow viewers to track the progress, view the finished product and also give feedback on the film. They are both good marketing strategies as both networking sites are used by our target audience, therefor we can write post directed to our target audience in order to advertise the thriller. It also means we can get in contact with viewers in order to try and promote the film. We also created a YouTube channel so that all the videos in the creation process can be viewed by the public, as well as our opening for our film. Again, it allows YouTube users to leave comments about the film allowing us to gather feedback for any improvements that may need to be made. All three websites are widely used and attract a wide audience, therefore we felt they were the best ways to advertise and market our film digitally.

Tuesday 3rd April Shooting Schedule
On Tuesday 3rd April, we are planning to shoot the last part of our thriller which will take place in a car park in Brentwood as we feel it will be an eerie atmosphere and is appropriate for our piece. We are aiming to start filming at 11 am in order to set up and get it done as efficiently as possible, we plan to edit whatever we film on Thursday 5th April and it will also be used as a reshoot day if needed.

Prelim
For our prelim we ran into quite a few different ideas, we all debated what we thought we could do to make the prelim shown in the 'Prelim storyboard', we did change a couple of bits when it came down to the final shooting because we thought it would look better.
We got to our first spot but found that after filming a couple of parts there that the lighting was quite poor and most of the film looked pitch black. So we moved to a better lit location to do the basis of our filming.
Afterwards we got to the preferred location but came across a few more bugs, we found that some of the things we wanted to do were going to be a bit harder than we thought, i.e Oli hurting his hand trying to slide down the banister, and also that his hat kept falling off as he skipped too fast, all of these things we took into consideration and we made sure that know one got hurt.
Our cinematography came on the day of shooting, we found that around the shooting area were a lot of empty classrooms and corners we could use to our advantage, we also found that we could do a tracking shot underneath the main character, making for a very different but very effective camera angle. We used all of the standard camera angles also such as panning; over the shoulder shots and shot reverse shot etc.
The editing was a little trickier; we found that the camera saved all of the files as Mp4's so it made getting them into editing software a bit harder than expected. After successfully getting them onto iMovie, we started editing and cutting all of the bits that were useless and soon enough we saw our movie start to come together. We then realized that there was a lot of film with no necessary sound in it, so we overcome this by putting a soundtrack that we felt reflected the tone of the movie very well.
After all of this the editing was easy, cut the parts you don’t want, and gradually put it together, leading to our end result.
